Poblacion PB Albert C. Carantes Jr. with the Barangay Kagawads receive the sacks of rice for their constituents.

As the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) period entered its third week of implementation, barangays in the municipality of Itogon, a mining municipality in the province of Benguet, received assistance from another mining company operating in the area.

On March 31, 2020, Itogon Suyoc Resources Incorporated (ISRI) donated 120 sacks (25 kg each) of rice to the municipality of Itogon in assistance to the town’s relief efforts amid the Covid-19 crisis.  Host barangays Ampucao and Poblacion were given 20 sacks each while the rest (80 sacks) were given to the other neighboring barangays through the Office of the Mayor.  Rice assistance totaled to PhP126, 000.00 and were sourced from the Social Development and Management Program (SDMP) funds of said company.

Aside from the said barangays, front liners manning the checkpoints in the municipality and nearby Baguio City, were provided with bottled water and bread.  Moreover, at least 400 face masks were donated to the municipality, Fire Protection personnel and other front liners.
