The Mines and Geosciences Bureau-Cordillera Administrative Region (MGB CAR) conducted a Groundwater Resources Assessment in Rizal, Kalinga on April 5 to 24, 2021. A team led by Senior Geologist Kelvin Carlo S. Gaerlan with Geologist II Jelson Fitzgerald Edduba and driver Freddy Fang, completed the inventory of the wells and springs in the municipality where they also conducted in-situ water analysis and georesistivity survey.
The Groundwater Resources Assessment aims to provide an assessment of the occurrence and movement of groundwater, characteristic of the present aquifer and to determine the depth of the underlying aquifer. It includes an analysis of the quality of the water sources of the community and generate groundwater/hydrogeological reports which can be used for future development of their domestic water sources plans and programs.
