School heads of Baguio City attend the Talakayan sa Paaralan held on March 25, 2022 at the Bonifacio Elementary School in the morning and at the Doña Aurora Elementary School in the afternoon, and on March 29, 2022 at the Baguio Central School.
Talakayan sa Paaralan is a collaborative Information, Education, Communication (IEC) activity led by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Cordillera Administrative Region Strategic Communications Initiative Group (DENR-CAR RSCIG), with the Information Officers of Environmental Management Bureau (EMB-CAR) and the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB-CAR).
This activity primarily aims to provide information on school titling, mandates of the regional mining bureau and solid waste management approach. It also serves as venue to address titling challenges and other environmental concerns in their schools.
Processes involved in School Site Titling and salient provisions of RA 10023 or the Free Residential Patents Act were comprehensively discussed. Moreover, DENR’s Priority Program No. 4 Geohazards, Groundwater Assessment and Responsible Mining, and Behavioral Change in Solid Waste Management, were discussed by the information officers of the line bureaus.
