Ms. Fay W. Apil, OIC Regional Director of MGB-CAR on September 5, 2017 signed the renewal of the Mineral Processing Permit for the BMC-Forestry Corporation, as Mr. Antonio L. Buenavista, company president received their copy. The permit allows the company to process raw limestone into quick and slake lime at their processing plant in Irisan, Baguio City, for another five years.
Mines and Geosciences Bureau- Cordillera Administrative Region’s Senior Ecosystems Management Specialist Engr. Virginia Briones together with other members of the team monitors Lepanto Consolidated Mining Company’s adherence to environmental standards set by the government for Environmental Protection and Enhancement Program.
The team monitors the mining company’s compliance to environmental standards on a quarterly basis.
RD Fay W. Apil gave Minahang Bayan updates to participants of the Environmental Summit last June 14, 2017. The activity was held at the Albergo Hotel in Baguio City and was participated by LGU and non government organizations and institution representatives.
Representatives of MGB-CAR joined the Tree Planting activity held on June 23, 2017 in celebration of the Arbor Day at Wright Park in Gibraltar, Baguio City.
Atty. Wilfredo G. Moncano, acting director of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau interacted with the personnel of MGB-CAR during his visit here in Baguio last July 20, 2017. It was an opportunity for the personnel to present some concerns besetting the office and to have their photographs taken with the director.
